John Quincy Adams, b. 11.07.1767 in Braintree MA, d. 23.02.1848 in Washington DC, son of the 2. president of the USA, John Adams (1735-1826).

During his father's presidency, he is ambassador to the Netherlands (1794-1796), to Portugal (1796-1797), and then to Prussia (1797-1801).
According to the family chronicle, during his stay in Europe, he supposedly asked for the hand of Johanna Cornelia de Boor. This, however, was not approved of by her relatives.
