Until the 30s of the 18. century, the family now makes its living off the fulling mills in Hanau. In 1730, the ancestors move from Hanau to Hamburg. This 'Hansa' town becomes the family's home town for the next 150 years. Profitable business deals in the 7-year war and marriage to a businessman's daughter increase the family's financial and social opportunities.
