| Many groups of religious refugees travel through the Europe of the 16. century. The Vatican and catholic potentates drive out the Huguenots, Flames, and Walloons from the spanish-occupied Netherlands and from France. Among these are also the ancestors of the family de Boor. The wish for religious freedom and better economic conditions brings them eventually into the Neustadt Hanau where adherents of the reformed faith are tolerated. |
